Welcome to Little Otter Literacy! I'm here to help your child build confidence in reading and writing or in Spanish language acquisition.

I moved here in 1990 to attend UCSC where I received my B.A. in Latin American Studies. In 1998 I received my M.A. in Bilingual Education at UCSC and I've been teaching the amazing kids of this county ever since. My career includes living in Mexico, serving in the non-profit sector, working as a home-based preschool instructor and teaching bilingual kindergarten through 3rd grades. In addition, I've served as a a reading interventionist for students K-5th in PVUSD for six years. My background includes training in the science of reading through SIPPs and the LETRS program and certification from Yale in Overcoming Dyslexia.

Aptos has been our home for over 2 decades, where I live with my husband, Derek, our dog, Russell, and our cat, Bart. Our older daughter graduated SDSU and our younger daughter attends UCLA.

Monterey Bay is our playground where my family enjoys hiking, surfing, mountain-biking, gardening, and enjoying the natural beauty of the outdoors.

I hope you'll reach out to me to see how I can support your child with reading, writing, or Spanish.
