Dyslexia Screener

If you have concerns about your child's reading progress, the most important first step is to do a dyslexia screening. Screeners flag students who may show signs of dyslexia. This is not a diagnostic tool. Trained diagnosticians would need to confirm a dyslexia diagnosis.
One-one-one literacy support
Spanish tutoring
Spanish tutoring for students K-12. Some students require more time and explicit instruction to unlock a new language. Sessions would focus on gaps in learning and areas of confusion your child may have in Spanish. We will respond to the curriculum your child uses in school.
Is your child feeling frustrated with learning to read? He or she is not alone. Reading is not a natural skill. For most people, reading needs to be taught explicitly. Our sessions will meet your child's unique needs through an evidence-based approach that includes an initial assessment, progress monitoring, and tailored lessons.
Tutoring locations
Sessions take place at the client's residence or the Aptos Public Library. An adult needs to stay on location at all times. Please note that there is an additional $15 fee for home visits more than a mile beyond the Aptos Public Library. Areas of service include the City of Santa Cruz, Live Oak, Capitola, Soquel, and Watsonville.
